Public Speaking Workshop in JakartaMUN

How to nail public speaking in Model United Nations?

Along with Finalist of Miss Tourism Indonesia, Maya Susanti, and News Anchor of TVRI (National TV Indonesia), Aldi Hawari, I had a chance to share some experience and secrets of public speaking in Model United Nations and how to nail the best delegate award at Jakarta Model United Nations 2013, conducted by Indonesian Student Association for International Studies. Conducted on June 20, 2013, the session was highly anticipated by more than 300 delegates coming from all over Indonesia and neighboring countries.

Unlike conventional public speaking, speaking in “the big league” of diplomacy in critically different. The limited 1 minute speaking time on moderated caucus, the usage of formal “grand words” known as “Language of Meeting”, as well as the goal to attain unanimous Council Resolution in the end of the day are some keys to nail the public speaking in MUN.

What I believe in MUN is that there is no right or wrong, not debate on the solely unbeatable argument. MUN is about making people like your version of resolution, build friendship and alliance, and lead the voice. Do not forget about develop informal communication outside the committee session, mingle in socials, and connect with fellow delegates across the world.

So, in the end of the day, you win, not only the grand award as achievement, but also memorable experience in your life!
